Final Cover
I have used a silhouette as it has connotations of danger as well as giving an effect of mystery. I wanted tk do this so that it would create interest from the target audience who are wondering who the artist is.
I have left a black space at the bottom of the frame so that the silhouette blends into it. I did this to signify the artist being unknown with this magazine being like a reveal of the artst to a larger audience.
I have used this font because when doing research I had noticed a few other magazines of the same genre using similar fonts.
Final Contents Page
I have continued with my black theme here. My contents page
follows the main conventions that I discovered in my research. These are; the use
of more than one photo on the contents page, a subscription offer on the
contents page and a large number of pages in the magazine.
I feel I have moved slightly from a totally conventional
contents page by having my contents split up into sections whereas some
contents pages do this, others don’t.
Final Double Page Spread
I have allowed for a centre fold and stapling here and my
choice of image is more invitational; this creates a good juxtaposition with my
cover and perhaps gives a pleasant surprise after the hint of threat from the
silhouette. My choice of font is rather daring but I think it creates a witty
retro reference and a good colour contrast to my house style. I also used this
font as it appeared like a computerised form of lettering, with a similar style
to calculator numbers, which I felt was appropriate for an artist called
SynthSync, especially as synth, being short for synthesiser, is an electronic instrument.
It is rather understated because I wanted to get a reaction from the reader.
